(1998) Based on a Chinese folk-tale, Mulan is a young high-spirited girl who tries hard to please her parents but always feels like she is disappointing them. Her father is drafted into the army which amounts to certain death because of his old age. Mulan disguises herself as a man and takes her father's place in battle, guided by a guardian dragon, Mushu. At the height of her success her secret is revealed and she is banished from home. But, undaunted she fights and defeats enemy invaders and saves the Emperor, bringing great honor to her family. (2004) After protecting her beloved country from the Huns, Mulan receives an unexpected marriage proposal from General Li Shang. But before they can tie the knot, Mulan must accompany Shang on a perilous journey to escort three princesses to Chang'an, China. The trip proves difficult for the couple, who have trouble getting along under the pressure of such great responsibility. Making matters even more complicated is Mushu, Mulan's lovable dragon sidekick, who isdetermined to drive a wedge between the couple after he learns that he will lose his guardian job if Mulan marries.
